One son dies as a baby, one son dies at 24 years of age, and five of his sons emigrate to America

The first son who emigated was Olaus.  He and Niklas Edvard Eriksson, leave together on the ship Oder, the 25 of may 1873.  At the time of their emigration, Niklas lives in a place called Långkasen, Ellelien.

Citat from a newspaper:

Niklas Eriksson, early pioneer in Becker County.

“When he was 20, Niklas and a friend Olaus Tollesson, came to the USA and had 20 cents in their pocket when they reached Minneapolis.  They worked there for two and a half years, before they settled in Becker County 1872.  Niklas was interested in land in theGlyndon area, so he went there.  But after been spending a night sleeping in a willow, he returned and decided on a place “where my feet were dry for the first time since I left Detroit Lakes.

Citat: Olaus was responsible for choosing the name Lundberg and made it known in the new country.

Niklas marries Christina Larsdotter, a sister to Olaus wife.

Olaus married Clara Larsdotter, who was born in1855, in Faglavik, Vastergotland.

She came to America in 1879, and married Olaus the same year.

Three years later Olaus dies.

They had two daughters, the youngest was born after his death.

Teodor Julius Tollesson and his sister Hedda

There is very little information about Teodor Julius. He left for America on 16, April 1880. His sister also had a certificate to emigrate for this date but she never left.
In the Swedish church records, he is declared dead in America, 14 of Dec.
I can not read the year.
I have heard that he went west working on the railroad, and was not heard from again.

Hans Tollesson and his wife Maria Sofia Andersdotter, born 1846 in Röane.

They are farmers and live in Öster Elgeland with their five children. Mathilda Augusta born 1870, Victor Alfred born 1873, Charlotta born 1875, Oscar born 1877 and dies 1882, 4 years of age, and Hilma born 1881.

The 28 of April 1882, two months after their son died, they emigrate to America. The children are then 12, 9, 7, and little Hilma is only 10 months.

It must have been harder for them to go with small children, then it had been for his brothers who only had themselves to care for. They had three more children in the USA, Oscar born 1884, John born 1888 and the third we know nothing about.
They Settled at Rock Lake, and farmed, like most of the other Lundbergs.

Oscar Emanuel came to America in 1893, at 15 years of age.
He became a farmer, but he was more interested in politics and held several offices in the township, school, farm organizations, telephone companies and the like. He left farming and moved to town and worked for the Becker County Highway Department until he retired. He also ran a gas station for a few years. His wife Amanda died in 1940, and in 1946 he married Charlie´s wife Alma Johnson Lundberg. Charlie had passed away in 1935. This doubled the family and they really had a lot of good get-to-gethers.
