Merchant and innkeeper Karl Gustaf Andreasson
from Hovsater (Panget)

The family had five children and four emigrated to the US. Left behind was the sister Emelie, who married Oscar from Bullareby. Oscar and Emelie were the parents of Frida, who ran the inn for many, many years. Those who emigrated were Hilma Gustafva, Alfred Thekler, Janne Oscar and Rickard Julius. We know that Rickard and Oscar were living in the state of Washington, in Tacoma and Seattle.

This picture was sent by Rickard to his parents and sister at Hovsäter.

A good days work, isn´t it? We assume that both Rickard, and his brother

Oscar are in the picture.

This picture was sent by Oscar to his parents, and he writes as follows:
Dear parents and sister,
I am sending you a picture of wheat that I have on my farm. It is a new kind, and it brings in three times as much as ordinary wheat. I will send you some of it so you can try it next year. I am offered 9 dollars and 10 cents per sack, but I will try to get 20 dollars. It is only me and two others that have this brand. Regards from Oscar.
The measure is in inch = 2.54 centimeter.

View from the mountains around Seattle.

On the back side of this postcard, Rickard has written that Seattle has the tallest buildings in the US, except for New York

Here is where Rickard lives!
