Alma Gustafva Karlsson, b. 1870-06-27 at Liane in Mo parish. Alma immigrated to Christiania in 1890, and from there to New York 1891, July 10.

Albin worked at a smelter named Argo, in Denver. The factory has been gone for many years, and now there is a park there called, ”Argo Park”. Albin and Alma had three children in the US. Ester Hansine b. 1893, Anna Florence Victoria b. 1898, and Hulda Josefina b.1902. All the children were born in Denver according to the birth book in Mo parish.

The family lived at Road, 627 W 43rd Ave., not far from where Albin worked. Albin and Alma could read, write and understand english, due to reading the census.

Albin and Alma married in Denver May 12, 1893. (licence no 14827).

Denver history tells us that many swedes worked ”in the smelters-the hardest, hottest and most dangerous works in town”.

In early 1900, many of the gold and silver mines were shut down. Maybe it was because of this, Albin and Alma decided to go back to Bullaren in 1905, after eighteen years in the US. The fourth child in the family, Harald, was born after they came back. The family settled later at Grimmeland.
